The tableside guacamole was nicely prepared and delicious. The steak and shrimp fajitas were also delicious. The service was very friendly and professional. The ambiance was very festive in the spacious and beautifully decorated bar area.

While not spicy, there was more spice than I expected this far north! Came on a Tuesday night for dinner while passing through on a business trip. Seated immediately at the bar and presented with complimentary chips+salsa. I opted to try their version of favorites from my hometown place-notably, a Chorizo bean dip, and Steak “Street Tacos” (both pictured), sided with a Blue Moon. 🍺 Everything was amazing. This place knows their sauces and seasonings. Big portions, and it all arrived at perfect temperature. If I were to nitpick, the steak in the tacos was a little rubbery. It was good, but it was more of an ingredient than the feature protein. With the rest of the flavors of the taco, this screamed for blackened tips. Or, maybe go the other way, with a more rare & juicy grill. I was only here for a brief business trip. If business brings me back, I’d be willing to return!

I have been TDY here at Grand Forks AFB, ND for almost 6 weeks. I have stopped into Charras quite frequently and I have had an amazing experience every time. Never felt rushed. However, have not had to wait long once I do order my food and it comes out hot a fresh. The servers are amazing, especially Margarita. She is attentive and shows she loves her job. The management and owners have come up to me and made sure my experience is going well. I truly have no complaints on Charras. A spot you have to try if you are in the area! 6 stars out of 5.

We got there just before the dinner rush on a Friday night, and were seated right away. Just a few minutes later there was a 25 minute wait for a table. The table side guacamole is worth the price. Absolutely fantastic. I could not decide which Tacos to try, and the waiter said that he could do one of each of 3 different types, except the walleye Tacos. I tried the chicken, the steak, and their special for the night, a pork and pineapple concoction. Spectacular. My companion had the chicken in a Chipotle cream sauce with mushrooms which was also divine. Service was also excellent even though our waiter was dealing with a difficult table near us. I would definitely recommend you go early. Food is worth a bit of a wait though!

We came for lunch on Valentine's Day and we loved everything! The chips, salsa, and guac was delicious.I loved my steak street tacos and my husband loved his chicken street tacos. Overall the service and portion size was good and everything was absolutely tasty. A great local authentic Mexican restaurant in Grand Forks! I recommend anyone driving through to stop by.

Absolutely fantastic experience! We came in with a large group, and the staff handled everything flawlessly. The food was delicious from start to finish — fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Every dish came out in a timely manner, even with our bigger party. The service was just as impressive. The team was friendly, attentive, and made us all feel very welcome. What really stood out was how clean and well-organized the restaurant was. The staff was constantly cleaning, organizing, and keeping the place looking great. It’s clear they take pride in their work and truly care about their customers’ experience. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!

Absolutely 5 stars! This place delivered on every level—from the fresh guacamole cart made right at the table to the perfectly mixed Moscow mule. I had the el pastor street tacos, and they were bursting with flavor—the sweet pineapple, fresh cilantro, and a creamy, house-made guacamole-style sauce tied it all together beautifully. The atmosphere was just right—lively but not overwhelming—and everything was spotless, including the bathrooms. It’s rare to find a place that nails flavor, service, and setting, but this one did. Can’t wait to come back!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This restaurant delivered one of the best Mexican dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment we sat down, the service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The highlight of the meal started with the guacamole, which was prepared fresh right at the table. Watching the ingredients come together in front of you adds to the experience, and the result was absolutely incredible. Creamy avocados, fresh cilantro, tomatoes, lime, and seasoning blended into a guacamole so fresh and flavorful that it was nearly impossible to stop eating. Paired with warm, crispy tortilla chips, it was the perfect start to the meal. The real star of the evening, however, was the shrimp tacos. These mouthwatering tacos were loaded with perfectly grilled shrimp, fresh cabbage, pickled onions, and a delicious creamy sauce that tied everything together. Every bite delivered the perfect combination of smoky, savory, tangy, and fresh flavors. The tacos were beautifully presented and packed with enough flavor to make you immediately start planning your next visit. The Mexican rice and refried beans were excellent sides, complementing the meal without overshadowing the main attraction. Portions were generous, ingredients tasted fresh, and the atmosphere was clean, modern, and comfortable. If you’re craving authentic Mexican food, do not skip the tableside guacamole or the shrimp tacos. Both were outstanding and easily among the best I’ve had anywhere. Highly recommended! 🌮🥑🔥🍤
